Navigation Flow Labeling

A user moves back and forward in browsing history. But, a user navigates to the previous and next page in a chain.

What Problem Does this Solve?

Many arbitrary variations of the same functioning button may exist. This causes confusion for the user, and results in a inconsistent interface. Labeling elements with this pattern will ensures consistent labeling throughout web application and consistent functionality for the User.

What is the Solution?

If within a chain (such as a wizard or another sequential flow) use previous and next as labels. If user is navigating back and forth through history use back and forward as labels.
