NEW YORK STATE LABOR LAW SECTION 194

New York State's Pay Equity Law (New York State Labor Law Section 194) requires private employers to pay employees equally for work on a job which requires equal skill, effort and responsibility, and which is performed under similar working conditions. An employer must base pay rates on a seniority system, a merit system, a system which measures earnings by quantity or quality of production, a factor such as education, training, experience, or another system which does not discriminate against those with protected class status.

NEW YORK STATE LABOR LAW SECTION 194-A

New York State's Salary History Law (New York State Labor Law Section 194-a) prohibits private employers or prospective employers from inquiring about your salary history or seeking salary history information from other sources or retaliating against you for refusing to provide salary history information.

NEW YORK STATE LABOR LAW SECTION 194-B

New York State's Pay Transparency Law (New York State Labor Law Section 194-b) requires private employers with four (4) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised job, promotion, or transfer opportunities.
